Flaws. I detest the word. And I hear it so much in relation to physical appearance. Are you and I going to believe that the same God who created the heavens and the earth, the majestic mountains and the awesome blue ocean, the fragrant flowers and the fabulous fruit trees, did not have the ability to create us without a flaw? Chew on that a second or two. You do not have flaws. You do not have defects. You do not have mistakes. But you DO have one-of-a-kind features that give you a look all your own. Unique details. They’re given to you by the Master Artist. What are yours? Go nose to nose with the mirror and name them outloud. I’ll share some of mine. It doesn’t scare me. In fact, I’ve grown to love my unique details. Here goes. I have an indent between my nostrils on the under part of my nose. My eyebrows are arched differently. I have a widow’s peak and my hairline is wavy. I have a dark mole on my left cheek, my ears are small, my shoulders are uneven, but my lips are wonderfully even. I love my lips! Unique details. Designed just for you. They make you special (not weird or odd). They make you beautiful in a way no one else can be. There is no one else exactly like you. And truly, aren’t you glad? Listen up to what these girls had to say on the topic: I smile every time I think about God, the All-Powerful, creating me. I want to laugh and dance with joy and at the same time cry and bow in awe of him and his love for me. ~Andrea T. I’m constantly humbled when I’m reminded that my heart and attitudes are so much more important and need more work than my appearance. ~Kelly C. God made me the way I am for a reason and someone, somewhere is going to fall in love with me just the way I am. ~Angela B. If I constantly diss on myself I’m telling God that he screwed up and that his creation isn’t good enough, when in reality God does everything with perfection and excellence. ~Lauren L. Encouragement from my family is all I need to remind me that the people who love me most in the world think that I am beautiful, that is all that matters to me. ~Michelle O. And now a word from your Sponsor (that would be God’s Word, the Bible): You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb…Your workmanship is marvelous. Psalm 139:13-14 NLT The king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. There you have it. Don’t let anyone, not a guy, not some mean girl at school, not a coach, not a parent, tell you differently. Your unique details make you outrageously gorgeous. A one-of-a-kind divine diva. Go celebrate. |

Dear friends, do you think you'll get anywhere in this (life) if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it...isn't it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense? James 2:14,17 The Message Bible |
